My technique and philosophy are rooted in the ceramic traditions of Karatsu, Japan where my family’s history in pottery stretches back several generation. But years spent living in the West has influenced my shapes and surfaces. I currently divides my time between studios in Japan and Maine and my simple functional forms are carried in galleries and shops in both countries.
